German Adult Education Association (DVV) e.V.
The German Adult Education Association (DVV) is the educational and policy representative body of the adult education centres and of the federal state adult education centre associations at federal and European level. The DVV promotes cooperation and exchanges of experiences between members, develops basic principles and guidelines and fosters the quality of adult education work and of international cooperation. It is backed by around 1,000 adult education centres in Germany.
The quality assurance work undertaken by the DVV (which is not confined to vocational education and training) relates to the following dimensions:
- Planning quality
- Programme quality
- Implementation quality
- Qualification quality
- Teaching quality
- Service quality
Participation in funding programmes at federal and at federal state level requires external certification of a quality assurance system in many cases. For this reason, many adult education centres have implemented quality management systems in recent years. Taking differing regional starting conditions and requirements into account, adult education centres have introduced various quality models into their institutions (LQW, ISO, EFQM, AZWV etc.).
The DVV and the federal state adult education centre associations have supported the quality assurance projects undertaken by the adult education centres via information events, pilot projects and framework agreements with certification agencies.
